Senior Citizens

One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law on July 4, 2025, provides a new deduction of $6,000 for taxpayers who are age 65 and older. This new deduction is in addition to the existing “additional standard deduction” for qualifying seniors. It is available to both itemizing and non-itemizing taxpayers, effective 2025 through 2028.
